After the utterly pointless recap episode last week, the seventh display of Youjo Senki has more loli heroics as she takes on the Entente Alliance in the north to eliminate their defenses and make way for a large-scale attack.
Tanya gets into a spat with the higher ups as she calls their plan of attacking in the north foolish because they lack the supplies to last long enough. But the higher ups are adamant and in their eyes, Tanya is a fool and a coward.
The higher ups aren’t stupid and they have a plan, which Tanya manages to figure out on her own. The plan is to attack the heavily defended Orse Fjord, eliminate their defenses, and have their main forces land by sea to capture everything they can. The plan was supposed to be a secret but Tanya shows her brilliant mind and guesses that such a plan would be feasible under the given circumstances.
The plan is put into action and Tanya leads the surprise attack from the skies. Things start off perfectly as the enemy never expected them to come to this heavily defended port. The same person whom Tanya faced on her training-turned-fight back when she started off, comes here again. Back then Tanya had launched a suicide attack and had miserably failed in dying. This time around she’s in a different position as she’s leading a battalion and is attacking.
The result is the expected one: Tanya’s mission is a success and she even manages to obliterate the defending mage company, including its captain. What follows is a big invasion of the Empire into the Entente Alliance through that port. They capture all the supplies and march forth to the capital to conquer that too.
It isn’t quite clear yet what the enemy general’s daughter’s purpose is and why she has to look an awful lot like Viktoriya. If they were trying to evoke some feelings for that Entente general, then they didn’t quite succeed. Or maybe they’ll use her later on in the show for some feels though it is doubtful if they’ll succeed.
This was another typical Youjo Senki episode; it had the usual loli badassery as Tanya took on the enemy and annihilated them. We got the usual excitement and some good-looking explosions too. There are some instances where character models look off which was expected after that recap last week; NUT are having some production issues apparently.
All in all, Youjo Senki continues to give us what we signed up for and doesn’t look like it’ll have more than that to offer at any point, though we’re not really complaining. If it’s more crazy loli goodness then it’s fine by us.
