El finally embarks on his mission to save the world, while Favaro rescues both Kaiser and Azazel in this week’s Shingeki no Bahamut VIRGIN SOUL episode.
Everyone probably thinks that El is just a kid so no one pays attention to what he says, which depresses him. Through Nina’s chatting with Bacchus and the duck, El gets some hints about Bacchus’ Hippogriff. He switches clothes with Nina and runs off towards the Hippogriff. Nina and the two gods go after him but they end up falling from heaven.
Instead of trying to convince his mother any more, El is instead going off on his own. He believes that it is his duty to bring peace to the land, which is probably due to the Michael within him, but that’s just speculation at the moment. What Gabriel said to him could have also gotten stuck in his head and now he really believes that he is meant to save the world.
And this means that El will have to face the humans since they’re the biggest disturbance here. And where there are humans, there’ll be Charioce, and they will be sure to find that weapon of mass destruction. Nina has also probably decided to help out El which means that she’ll be facing Charioce sooner or later. Nina’s dream this episode showed that she’s madly in love with Charioce, and this will determine her line of action when she ends up facing him.
Kaiser has been sentenced to death by combat. And his combat opponent is none other than Azazel, who doesn’t care one bit about anything else other than winning at the moment. The fight scene kinda disappoints because it feels incredibly average. We’ve seen this show look so outstanding whenever there is battling involved. But this second half hasn’t had much action, and this first action scene of the cour is quite disappointing. There’s really nothing special about this fight.
During the fight, Favaro comes out from the audience and with some smokescreen, he manages to take out Azazel and Kaiser. This is leading towards a possible team up between Kaiser, Favaro and Azazel. The latter doesn’t want to work with Kaiser, and Favaro also begins to walk away before getting stopped by Kaiser. The mention of Charioce’s weapon being as strong as Bahamut was got Azazel’s attention, though we don’t know if he’ll join the party just like he did back then. But since the main character here is Nina, it’s likely that she’ll play a central part in taking this new “Bahamut” down, though we’ll have to see what role she ends up playing.
Jeanne and Sofiel are still in Gabriel’s party and now they’ve found out that El has escaped. It’s a big blow to Gabriel’s plans, as her most powerful weapon has left her side. Jeanne is still a follower of Gabriel but there will come a point when she’ll have to decide whether she wants her son or Gabriel.
Shingeki no Bahamut VIRGIN SOUL is still in its setup stages for this cour, as this episode too has just taken El out of heaven and brought together Favaro, Kaiser and Azazel. Things have yet to be set up on Charioce’s side, given his weapon isn’t ready yet. We’ll have to see how much longer this setup stage lasts. Though based on this episode and how the new OP is visually underwhelming compared to the previous one, we’re not sure how it’ll fare when it will come to the action; though we hope we don’t get more disappointing sequences like this episode gave us.
